Cross country skiing is another great winter activity to take part in during our stay. Not only is it a great workout, but you also get to see some spectacular scenery of beautiful Northern Minnesota. And it’s just a short drive to Itasca State Park which has an amazing trail system.
Experience Minnesota ice fishing at it’s best! Leech Lake and many other area lakes offers some of the best muskie and walleye fishing in the Midwest. If you're looking for a fun challenge in the wintertime, consider eelpout fishing, which is great on Leech Lake!
There are miles of groomed trails, open fields, forests and frozen lakes available for snowmobilers to venture out and explore (learn more from the Minnesota DNR). You don’t even need to travel far… the Heartland Trail is at the top of the driveway! Need a place to store your gear? We have secure garage space available for your stuff!
Drive a short distance to the Walker Community Center and go ice skating at the rink! Skates are available to rent for only $1 per pair.
Snowshoeing is winter hiking. A great way to experience Minnesota’s pristine Northwoods and winter landscapes. Fresh snow is the best! Just strap on a pair of snowshoes and head out into the wilderness to start your adventure.
